Saturday Rally at Camp Pendleton, California
Our group of "die-hard faithfuls" met together for the first time on Saturday, June 10 of 2006 at the heavenly gates of Camp Pendleton. We continue to rally, in support of our Marines! We jump up and get it done every Saturday, rain or shine. It is the least we can do for our Marines who risk their lives to defend our country.
In a time of war, when U.S. Marines are in a combat zone, they must be given every opportunity to complete their mission.We have been distracted for too long. Besides our collective effort to make an honest living, raise a normal family, and enjoy everything that America has to offer, we have given the reins of power to leaders without holding them accountable.Our group fully realizes the danger.
The Pendleton 8 was assigned to combat in Iraq with the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division (REIN) known as “Darkhorse 3/5”, one of the most storied infantry battalions in the history of the US Marine Corps.
Today, they face serious charges. They were doing their job in a war zone called Hamdania, NOT PASSING OUT CANDY. It could easily be you and me in the brig with them. Today, it would be nearly impossible for us to be treated fairly by the "lame-street" media and corrupt politicians.
We come together every Saturday to inspire our Marines with a hearty "thank-you" and to remind the brass about protecting their own at Camp Pendleton. Free the Pendleton 8!

For those looking to make a donation to the Pendleton 8, here is my response to several inquiries:
First and foremost..THANK YOU!!!
Second, I was very reluctant to start another website www.pendleton8.com because I though already had one www.defendthetruth.com. Unfortunately, many of us tried to contact that person and that person did not get back to us, or keep that website updated.
Third, I am VERY lukewarm about donating money to anyone else. Websites such as www.defendthedefenders.org give me a queesy feeling.
Here is what I can tell you. Michael Savage is a national radio talk show host. Call his radio show and tell them you want to donate money to the Pendleton 8. Perhaps they will put you on the air. Otherwise, Savage has given money ($5,000) of his book sales to one of the families named Jodka. Jodka promised to make sure all the families get ALL (EVERY SINGLE PENNY) of the distributed funds.
The parents of Jodka visit us almost every weekend. I will personally ask him if he would provide this service for all of us.

It is quite easy to respond to the previous comment. The President clearly told us from the beginning what his intentions were, and he kept us updated when new a new sent of circumstances required it. He has not flinched. If the media, I mean ALL OF THEM DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS (including FOX since you think I'm being unfair) accurately reported the news; the Bush Bots and Screaming Liberals paid attention, and used their own brain-power to reach sensible conclusions, you would be astonished to learn that Murtha and his group of traitors should be shackled for treason. He is a troll-dog for the politicians. All of a sudden, he is a war hero. Unfortunately, he is a criminal and has a tarnished past. As for Cindy Sheeham, there are other mothers (oh reallY?) that lost their sons and daughters, and they positively, absolutely, do not agree with her b.s.

As a personal friend of LCPL Tyler A. Jackson, one of the innocent 8, I thank you for spreading the word about these men. I have known Tyler for years and he is a good man fighting for his country and is not guilty. As friends of Tyler we have gotten together and had a few fundraisers, a day at the park, a rummage sale and a tri tip dinner. Next week we are going to be doing another rummage sale because we raised $1000 at our last one.

Thank you everybody for showing up at the rally every Sat. We need to show our unity and support until they're FREE. Where are you G.W. Bush and your 1 swipe of the pen. These are men we trained and we sent there lets stand with them and their courage to do what needed to be done. So, we as a nation, need to do the right thing and set them free. This is doing nothing except costing tax money and detering new recruits and patriots for America. The People need to speak. Start a writing campaign to GW Bush to set our Heros Free (damn it)

I'm going to try keep this short.
I have two boys 10 and 12 years old and since they were able to talk, I have always taught them how important the military is to us and if they chose to serve, I would support them 100%.
However, this case and other recent cases similar to it, I've recently have begun to change my mind about encouraging them to serve.
Our sons are in a conflict. A war. There will be times when emotions might get the better of them when they see their buddies getting cut down or blown up. I don't think I can any longer encourage them to serve if our son's are treated as common murderers when spontaneous emotions might make them do things they shouldn't have.
Please tell Rumsfeld and the President that military is going to have a hell of a task recruiting from my family as long as they treat our sons as political pawns instead of soldiers in a war.

My heart is saddened by this situation. My 15 year old son and I were listening on news talk radio about this situation and he turned to me and said, "Mom, if they prosecute people for doing their job, then nobody is going to want to join the service." I thought to myself, you are right. There is another situation similar to this where they are prosecuting border patrol officers for doing their job. Scarier yet, they were convicted in a court in Texas and an illegal alien trying to cross the border with drugs was given special treatment, medical treatment, etc. for testifying against them. It truly is a world deceived by lies, so much so, that they cannot discern any bit of truth. My prayers are with the Pendleton 8 and I will surely pass this information on to everyone I know. Thank you all for your service!!! My family and I truly appreciate your sacrifice. God bless

Attorneys cut deals for Bacos and Jodka but we must continue to support the Pendleton 8. We are Americans and as such we owe our freedom to our military heroes. Support the troops? The Pendleton 8 are our troops! The rallies at the Main Gate are not about guilt or innocence. We are there because of the despicable treatment of OUR heroes (however, their innocence was horribly ripped from them). Did they kill an innocent Iraqi? Doubtful! Free the Pendleton 8 and let them do their jobs. These Marines have seen the horrors that the enemy inflicts on their brothers every day. If a few civilians are killed in the crossfire, well, 9/11 comes to mind. More than 24 civilians were killed that day.
I for one am glad that the Marines and all the Armed Forces are over there watching our backs. Unless someone has actually been there, we can't even begin to judge what any of our men have done or are going through.

Charges just before Christmas! Another despicable act by the USMC. We couldn't wait until after the holidays! Once again the USMC is conducting psychological warfare against the affected Marines, their families, friends and all other Marines! The USMC continues to sink to new lows!

apparently you forgot that General Mattis was told by the Colonel who reviewed the first cases the evidence was very poor and the statements were going to be troublesome. So now the USMC gets its 100% conviction rate and what did you get? Bragging rights "I got my client a plea deal" What did your clients get? SCREWED! What did their families get? We're yet rallying in support of the Pendleton 8. If you truly support our troops, you should join us at the Pendleton Main Gate every Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m. to p.m. Bring your flags and your troop support signs. You'll feel better having done so and you will make the troops and their families happy. Please don't leave a few lost souls crying in the wilderness! Come, be a part of the solution! willing2fight

All you troop supporters with magnets and/or stickers on your vehicles: ATTENTION! Show up at the main gate on saturday with your signs and flags and show you truly support our troops. That includes the Pendleton 8, the Haditha 8 and Lt. Phan.

I really don't know what these people are thinking. They send out these young men and think that they can learn to cope with all the things that come with being at war. They can't. No one rally can I think. I honestly think that if they train you to kill and give you a gun and ship you off with a mind set that everyone is out to get you. I could see why in "innocent" person could get caught in the cross fire. I'm sorry don't give them a gun if you don't want anyone to get hurt.
The Marine Corps has changed. I know my husband doesn't agree with the things they are doing to the Marines these days.
I sit and cry for these families that are hurt from all this. It is sad what the world is coming to. I support you all so much and I'm usually at work on Sat. but This one coming up I will bring snacks for everyone. I hope that might help.

every generation of Marines has stated that those who followed were not as good, not trained the same, not as disciplined... yet the tradition of the worlds premiere fighting force lives on. yes being a Marine is tough, but as a trained professional, there are responsibilies that come with picking up a weapon. as military leaders we hold our Marines to these standards everyday. they can never be betrayed or bent. to do so would be a betrayal of the Marines who came before. MArines live by a simple set of rules, a couple are integrity, and judgement.

I just heard Trent Thomas got released, Praise Jesus! I was afraid he was going to be sent to Levinworth for life! But Trent had faith God was going to move in his favor and HE did! It is shameful that the Marine Corps I served in from 66-69 has turned into a shill for the government. Bush needs to exonerate the 8, and also free those 2 border patrol agents.......just like he did his little buddy "Scooter."

As a Marine and a friend,I can tell you that Sgt. Lawrence Hutchins III is the epitome of a United States Marine. Every day he went well beyond the duties and responsibilities that were expected of him to ensure that his Marines were taken care of. Sgt. Hutchins always made sure that his Marines understood the tasks and knowledge that were expected of them. I have never met a Marine that had the will and relentlessness to accomplish a tasks or a mission that Sgt. Hutchins possessed. On a daily basis Sgt. Hutchins displayed unwaivering moral character,judgement,discipline,and leadership. I consider it a great honor to have had the opportunity to serve with Sgt. Hutchins.
In closing, as a Marine we are always taught that true leadership is doing the right thing when no one else is observing or watching. One can only hope and pray that the United States Marine Corps will fill its ranks with Marines that possess the kind of leadership traits and moral character that Sgt. Hutchins displayed on a daily basis.

I am very distressed about our government and our young men and women enlisting to service this grand home of the free and brave.
How can I encourage my son to enlist and protect our Country when our Country cannot protect our sons and daughters.
Not only are they(our government) falsly prosecuting our children but they are allowing our enemies to make the allegation. When they killed our men & women we did not put them on trial, when they killed our citizens and hung them in their streets, we have not prosecuted them, for gods sake we can't even find Osama bin laden.
I now protect my children and family from my government because they cannot stand by us and protect us.
Not to mention the equipment they supply our soldiers,being faulty and unsafe, most employers would be sued by the injured employees for unsafe equipment. The government has regulations they require employers to follow, why does our military not follow safety regulations.
My prayers go to the young men (pendleton 8) may the lord watch over you and stand by you in this trying time.

I was so proud to be an American when I showed up today to see these veterans, going on two years in, still standing up for this kind young man every week, in the rain no less.
Think what you want about the current war or politics; when faced with honor, courage and commitment like that one cannot help but be moved. This morning (May 24, 2008) I stopped to thank the gentleman in the brown hat who was placing flags along the approach to the Main Gate.
He said "No, no no thank you and your husband, your family and all the troops and veterans for their sacrifices. God bless you and be safe. We love you!" I couldn't hide the tears. I thought, what a patriot!
